Homosexuality and Islam

Quran covers the issue of homosexuality in 4:16

"If two men among you are guilty of lewdness, punish them both. If they repent and amend, Leave them alone; for Allah is Oft-returning, Most Merciful."

This punishment will be applicable only in that estate where Islamic laws are recognized. No individual is authorized to execute the penalty. In addition, the punishment is executed only in case of accused being caught by the law. Even in that case, if it is proved beyond doubt that the accused had truly repented over his/her sin before being caught, the punishment is to be condoned.

“Allah accepts the repentance of those who do evil in ignorance and repent soon afterwards; to them will Allah turn in mercy; for Allah is full of knowledge and wisdom. Of no effect is the repentance of those who continue to do evil until death faces one of them and he says ‘Now have I repented indeed’; nor of those who die rejecting faith: for them have We prepared a punishment most grievous”. Quran 4:17-18

A few people come with the logic that it is by birth or by my nature that as a man i am attracted towards man and hence its justified. Please note that now days same lame argument is coming from pedophiles for their inhuman crimes.

Homosexuality should be taken as disease that requires counselling and treatment.
